For over four decades, Rochester’s ultimate frisbee community has been building something remarkable. The sport that was born at Columbia High School in New Jersey, arrived at RIT in the 1970s, sparking pickup games and leagues throughout the 1980s that evolved into today’s organized leagues serving hundreds of players. Through it all, this community has navigated growth, competition, and changing values while holding onto a unique principle called “Spirit of the Game.”
Spirit vs. Score tells this story through the voices of the people who lived it: founding members, longtime players, coaches, and current community leaders. But this isn’t just a film about frisbee. It’s about how any community navigates change while trying to stay true to what matters most.
